Mega Airport Series And Aes

Number Six

Recommended Posts

hello,

I noticed that the Mega Airport scenery series products are compatible with AES in FS9.

Does this mean that I still have to buy credits for them, or will AES be automatically enabled in the addon sceneries?

Thanks!

EDIT: Just to be sure, the FSX versions of the sceneries all come with moving jetways, trucks etc as in the default sceneries?

"Compatible" is not the same as "Inclusive". Compatible means, that AES will support this addons for FS9 (and after release of AES 2.0, for FSX too), but it is not included in the scenery addons.

The "simple" Trucks are a buildin feature of the FSX and not depending on the addons.

The Jetways are only animated if the scenery includes that FSX feature, which is not included in all Mega Airports (MAF don't have it, MAP has it for example.

But the AES Jetways in FSX are much more complex and detailed animated, then the FSX buildin Jetways.

hello,

So with Heathrow X, will I get moving jetways in FSX without AES?

And is there a plan to upgrade the frankfurt scenery to include the moving jetways?

No, as I remember EGLL has static Jetway, because serveral Jetways are not able to animate with FSX.

The first (and only) Simwings Airport with animated Jetways was Paris (and the upcoming LEPA will have them too).

For EDDF no plans yet as I know.

Ah, that's too bad.

If an AES type system were to be launched for FSX, then is it possible for the Heathrow scenery to be upgraded to included animated jetways?

When AES 2.0 is released end this month, you can use AES in EGLL, EDDF, LFPG, LEMD and others to get animated jetway, servicetrucks and pushback.

Thank you again for your help. So the Mega Airport Heathrow scenery will definitely feature animated jetways in FSX once AES is released? I'm sorry to seem bothersome, but I have purchased this addon and need to be sure before I open the package. How much will it cost me by the way to enable AES 2 in MA heathrow X?

One of the key feature of AES is the real animation of all Jetways on that airport, inclusive such jetway, which are never be able to animate with the FSX buildin function (those jetways, which don't turn, only move up/down and forward to the doors).

So, when you activate AES for EGLL, therefor you need 5 credits, you will have animated jetways all over the airports (and docking systems, stairs, serivcecars and a real pushback).

hello,

Thank you. Are there any links to information/features on this AES 2? Or is it exactly the same as the previous AES, except designed for FSX?

Will I have to purchase credits to enable AES in FSX and FS9 seperately? Or will 5 credits be enough to enable AES in both fsx and fs9?

EDIT: I've had a look, and there also seems to be an AES 3.0. Could you elaborate on this at all?

hello,

Thanks. From what I understand, AES 2 is simply AES 1.xx adapted for FSX? And AES 3 is a completely new system with new features?

But aren't some of the features used in the FS9 AES redundant in FSX? For example, the pushback truck (I see with FS9, the AES trucks appear out of nowhere, whereas with fsx default they are already there, waiting)?
