Diamond DA20-100 'Katana' 4X Preview

Recommended Posts

Not only that, only the dumbest pilot has advanced flying aids at his fingertips, then fails to use them...

The GPS mimics ADF, and then some. If you want to fly `half-arsed` and be that dumb pilot, you can. simply use the ADF icon and the compass rose and you've achieved the desired objective.

I also suggest you also remove the electric windows from your car, disable the ABS and the traction control and only use the first three gears. And don't forget to sell the electric lawnmower, light the fire every morning by candlelight - and boil the water in a steaming cauldron.

Then you can really be more than just a pretend Luddite.

I won't comment on the release date, other then that's is near. And I will have a features lists made early next week. Will be long.

I know you just said you'd have the features list made, nothing about posting it, but...?

Is there anyone out there, who would manage to bring a light aircraft to smoke that way? Very realistic indeed! I wonder where in any case the benefit is, in oposite to the currently available DA20. If I can believe in one of the feature lists that were announced in the previews, everything was built there, that had no place in the Airbus. Marcel Felde will surley demonstrate again his impressive skills in 3D design arts, but the question is, who needs the Bird?

Don't know whether you are kidding, but that's no smoke, should be snow or dust raised by the wheels.

In my opinion, the overdone spray/snow/dust effect in FSX...

You can always create a dummy file to do away with it I suppose...

It is one of the few things that do annoy me in FSX...

Though no reason to tarnish the Katana 4X with this...

It is nearly impossible for Mathijs to get all the features and I am still working on the list, choosing whether a feature should be announced or keeping it a 'easter-egg'.

Sorry for not posting for a while: my computer has been infected by a virus and I had to install new hardrives and a new system. Fortunately there has been no data loss, just a loss of much time.

Look! The site of Marcel has been updated, no a lot of news, but the relase is very soon!!!

Can you share a link? Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't see anything new on Marcel's site. Not that there needs to be - I'm guessing we'd all rather have him rattling around under the hood of the Katana... ;)

Well, yes, that's it. But unless I'm being really obtuse (always possible), I don't see anything new there. Great-looking site but the material has been there for several months. As I said, no problem, though - better he should be building airplanes than websites... :)

I see from the German article, the book is back on the top of the instrument panel. Is there an option to put the book away? With the turbulence we sometimes get in Southern California, I don't put loose objects on top of my panel.

Yes, no changes at the website the last months. I am thinking about a development blog, but at the moment there is not enough time. ;)

There is some Velcro tape on the glareshield and on the book, so only the wind of the propeller may blow it away. Of course airstream may do also, but then you have bigger propblems.

Additionally you may move it between the two seats. In realistic mode it will "remember" this position, so you don't have to remove it every flight.
