Daniel Roethlisberger 0
Hy! In the last few days, my FSX crashed nearly all the time. When I load a flight (problem: g2d.dll), try to save a flight by pressing "ü", when a flight is to 100% loaded but the aircraft doesn't get positioned, when pressing Alt+TAB or simply when I'm flying around. I have installed SP2 (not Acc). Any ideas what e.g. "g2d.dll" is for?

I would install the latest drivers and the latest DirectX.
Daniel Roethlisberger 0
Thanks, will try this. Aerosoft has just a great support and that's one of the reasons why I keep buying your products!
Daniel Roethlisberger 0
Didn't really work. I already had the latest DX9.0c but I updated the nvidia driver. Many of the problems have gone, but now I got the g2d.dll error while FS was loading the terrain. Thanks anyway.
James A 39
Try uninstalling SP2 and see what transpires. HTH...
Daniel Roethlisberger 0
And how can I do that without uninstalling the whole sim? Install SP1?
James A 39
And how can I do that without uninstalling the whole sim? Install SP1? Hi Dany, No! Go to Start/Control Panel/Add Remove Programmes and go down the list till you come to Microsoft Flight Simulator X SP2 and uninstall. That's all you need do. Daniel Roethlisberger 0
I saw this entry, but it's the only FSX entry, that's why I thought it would uninstall the whole sim. Thanks James!

Don't know wether it's a Windows thing or FSX one but it renames the Microsoft Flight Simulator X entry for the SP2 one, when you uninstall SP2 it reverts back to it's original :!:
Daniel Roethlisberger 0
Yeah, it worked, I have now less crashes. But all I got are because of that damn g2d.dll, just as I touched down at Syngboche, FS "had to close"... Is it possible that my g2d.dll is modified and I don't have the original one anymore? Is it possible that my g2d.dll is modified and I don't have the original one anymore? it should be dated December 10th 2007. But I doubt that this file is the cause. As said it is one of the links between FS and the OS/Hardware. I would suspect DirectX or even hardware in this case. Remove the GPU driver totally, reinstall it. I would even take out the card, clean the contacts, make sure the fans work.

Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted February 29, 2008 Aerosoft Share Posted February 29, 2008 And mine is from the 11th of May 2007 :? That's not the SP2 one (and really think you should use SP2 because it should be more stable).
Dangerous Beans 0
Maybe this link will help http://support.microsoft.com/kb/257401 It says its for FS2000 but hopefully its the same problem
Daniel Roethlisberger 0
Just made a flight and all worked well except the shutdown of FS. The landing was awesome, very heavy crosswinds in Zurich because of the storm last night.

Shaun Fletcher 570
Hello danydj718, Try removing the FSX.cfg to another location and allow it to write a new one on restart and see what happens.

Daniel Roethlisberger 0
Well, I think the g2d error has gone. But I have another one... :? I update my geforce with a new driver, has problems in games ( I saw lines like trees ) and then I reinstalled the old driver. Now what's this:
Daniel Roethlisberger 0
Thank you Shaun, to delete and let rebuild the .cfg solved all my problems! And that weird appearance in Alice Springs as shown in the upper post never appeared again. Thank you very much!

Daniel Roethlisberger 0
I ahve it again, but only while loading a scenery by day. For example Helgoland (but only by day). FSX crashes while loading the terrain (between 38% and 53%).

Daniel Roethlisberger 0
No. In addition I use only payware (mainly aerosoft), apart of two aircraft. Could it be connected to my settings? Mesh is set to 19m. As I already wrote, I only get this "terrain-problem" if FS has to load a complex scenery. Tonopah Nevada is no problem
