thierry 0
Hello, I m having a lot of shimmering in all games including fsx and fs9 ive tried a lot of custom settings with nvidia control panel and nhancer but nothing seems to cure this problem . my config: asus extreme striker with E6850 4GO ram corsair and 8800gtx latest drivers on vista 32bits PSU 1000W. antialiasing doesnt work even with combined 32S and AF x16. all aerosoft products are shimmering(ground trees buiding) when engines ON.it seems to be better when i'm close to those elements.the registration of all planes is also shimmering. FSX SP1 AA:on, AF:aniso with 1920X1200 resolution same problems with fifa 2008, totalwar, etc would you please help me to find whats going on and eventually solve this 1 year old problem thank you. Shaun Fletcher 570
Hello thierry, I got nHancer working fine here with the Nvidia 8800 GTX. This is what I have for FS2004 and have the profile active. Enhancement tab. Anti-Aliasing set to Supersampling 16xS Enhance in game AA setting checked Gamma Correction checked Anisotropic Filtering set to 16x Vertical Sync- set to Application. Optimisation Tab. Texture Filtering set to High Quality Trilinear Optimization set to off. Aniso Sample Optimization set to Off. Negative LOD BIAS set to Clamp. Force DXT3 (OpenGL) set to off. Prerender limit is set to 3. Compatibility Tab. Anti-Aliasing Compatibility set to 00000005 OpenGl Support is set to 00000000 general compatibilty Force Mip Maps set to None. High Dynamic Range (HDR) is set to Enabled. Conformant Texture Clamp set to On. Leave the rest as they are, Then if you have Multicore CPU then chose the Multicore option. Remember to turn on Anti-Aliasing in the display menu in FS9. Also you may need to restart FS9 to see the changes. I'm running 169.25 forceware drivers for winvista 32 bit and I have supersmooth graphics in FS9. I'll post a few screenshots after using nHancer and Aerosofts Frankfurt with the default Cessna. Shaun Fletcher 570
Hello thierry, What version of the Nhancer are you using I have 2.3.2 Select the FS2004 profile then click on the profile button to change the settings. Make sure that you check the "Profile can be activated manually" button also. Then activate the profile in the menu bar under the Tools|Activate Profile. Have you also copied the profiles to the Registry. I would assume that you could try the settings in FSX and they should be okay. The pictures below are at EDDF in FS9 with 100 AI Traffic as you can see everything is quite sharp and smooth.

Robert S 75
I believe the problem is within your Nvidia control panel settings, under the LOD option. You need to set this to CLAMP. This setting is what is causing your shimmering...(I know, it took me forever to solve this myself.) Let us know if that helps.

Nick - Seria17hri11er 0
You probably need to dig into the fsx.cfg settings and change some values. There are some guides out there. Maybe I can find one and post a link.
GabethePilot 1
I know this is an old topic, but it is still an ongoing problem in both FS9 and FSX. Shaun, you should know by now that ground texture shimmering has naff all to do with your graphic card settings, but rather due to the fact that often - particularly Aerosoft airports, no mip maps are used in the ground textures. They need to be converted to errasdicate or improve the shimmer. See here - for anyone else with these probelms, for a good post on just how to do that. It is a mipmap issue however it isn't really Aerosoft's fault as they're only the distributor and not the developer. It is beyond me why the developers mipmaps some textures and not others! Aerosoft should engage with the developers and ensure the textures are delivered to the highest standard possible. Chris
