Okay, here it is, the 'official statement from Aerosoft' about the events regarding the ACES studios. Everybody seems to make an 'official statement' and people kept asking us about one, yet we are not sure why. As we see it, it does not change a whole lot of things. Of course it DOES change a lot for the ex ACES people involved and as we call many of them our friends we understand it affects them seriously. But we as we know them we also know MS did not hire them because they looked great, we are sure they will bounce back.

While Aerosoft does not fully understand the reasoning behind closing the ACES studio as it seems to be doing well (and let’s be honest, it’s not as if they were not making a profit), we acknowledge the fact Microsoft on occasion like to stir things up. They believe that a static company is a dead company and they it needs to reinvent itself every few years. They did not say they were not going to do a new version of FS, they just said that it would not be done by ACES (duh) and that they are thinking it over.

1) There never WAS a announcement about a new version, in fact as far as we know development hardly started. So in this aspect nothing changed from the viewpoint from the customers

2) A new version of FS was not expected before late 2010, so for the next 18 months nothing ACTUALLY changes for customers

3) There are still a lot of customers who still got one new version of FS to start with, as the hardware needed to use it comfortable is getting available (and cheaper) at this very moment, they got a lot of new things to explore.

The baseline is that Aerosoft is not worried. Like Microsoft we feel to need to change and to go where the customers like us to go. Of course we got our own completely independent flight simulations developments in Airline Simulator and with the World Of Subways we shown that we are able to deliver high quality train simulation that is independent from others. We are not worried, we just need to change with the times, very normal for a company like Aerosoft.

Now I am going to close this topic as there is not a lot we can add or comment apart from the fact we just decided that nothing is going to change fro Aerosoft at this moment. All the budgets for all departments will stay the same. So we'll spend the same on advertisements (some webmasters were worried about that), the same on show visits (some organisers were worried about that), and even more important, the same on development of new products. Our message is simple, business as usual untill further notice. After all, we got our own independant developments in FS (Airline Simulator) and TS (World of Subways) and a rather strong professional department to fall back on. Of course the closing of ACES will change Arerosoft, but as said we are not worried.
