F-16 taxi speed

After collecting the first hours on your excellent F-16 I am absolutely delighted with that add on! It is great fun to fly that bird!

To avoid too high landing weights I calculated the fuel so that I would arrive at some 30% fuel quantity left (or less).

Everything fine! After touch down I reduce speed to somewhat around 10 to 15 kts when approaching a TWY entry.

What I find remarkable is that now my acft increases speed again with the throttle at 'idle', so that I have to step into the brakes regularly if I want to keep a realistic taxi speed.

Whenever I watched F-16' s taxiing back to their shelters after their completion of a mission I didn' t realize such kind of continuous braking activity ...

My version: 1.1, updated to 1.2 by download

Hello Hotelfox,

Let me set up my F-16 to 30% fuel and see what she does.

Hello Shaun,

Thanks for your prompt reply, and - sorry for not posting this issue in the F-16 support forum. For your information - I used the 'Search' function before posting. But printing 'F-16' in the box didn' t cause any results ...

Here is one more more detail for your investigation: As far as I can judge the problem only occurs with the AM-models.

I am curious what you will find out!

Hello HotelFox,

I found an interesting article which answers the question.

If you read the article here, apparently this is quite normal behaviour.

The Falcon will move at idle throttle.

Seems to me that I have to get accustomed to that phenomenon ...

I wouldn' t care if there were wheelbrakes with variable braking force! Nevertheless, thanks for your effort (still love the F-16!).

Don't know if this is what you're after, but I noticed something the other day, and again yesterday. If you are gathering too much speed taxiing, while in the VC (virtual cockpit), click the throttle lever (which is on the left side for those that don't know), and drag it backwards. The engine RPM's drop as does the speed.

Maybe yours isn't the same, but even when my throttle is pulled right back to the stop, I can still get this extra movement by clicking and dragging the throttle backwards. It doesn't stop the plane totally, but the taxi speed is much more manageable.

Hope this helps someone :)
