Fsx A-10

Any news on the project?

I remember hearing something about it.

Same for the F-16 Weapons add-on, any news on that?

Regards, Diego

Hello Diego ,

I asked the same question (about the Hog that is) last week and the reply was that the warthog has been put on hold until another project is completed. I am glad to see I am not the only one who is chomping at the bit for an updated Hog

Randy

I have been waiting on some news of the A-10 as well, but there are a lot of known projects in the works. Is probably best to finish the known projects before doing the further down the road projects. Hopefully after the Catalina, Gliders, and Huey it will come.

I am keeping my fingers crossed ,that they don't keep putting on the back burner

The project is not on the schedule at this moment as the modeler who worked on it has not yet delivered all the files he had. As he is now longer employed by Aerosoft this is all a bit of a fiddle to get done. But don't despair, it still is on the list.

Thanks for the answer and keeping us in the loop Mathijs

Hello folks!

I really don't want to nag about anything as I know you guys are working very hard on many other projects! But is it possible that you might be working on a A-10 in the near future? By that I mean 2009/10. The A-10 is absolutely amazing, and FSX needs one!

Thank you :)

What's special about this plane?

Don't get me wrong, this is not a rhetorical question.. :P I'm really wondering

Not to be snobby or anything, but if you don't see it right away, you probably never will. For me it's the clunkiness of the plane, and the pure elegance of seeing it flying. A bit like a Russian plane: quite deformed in a way, yet full and complete in another. Hard to express, I'm afraid.

In the FS2004 they are some Missions like an run on a range the US.

Maybe its better for the European Users to put an Range in Europe like Nordhorn Range near the dutch border. The 81stFS training thier pilots there with Bombing and Strafing.

Is it possible to put an Scenerie like this into the product? I have some air photos from the Targets and the ground mesh.

The VFR Germany North mesh quite good, only i miss the 150ft control Towers.

Awesome: what so special about this plane is that it's a low flying beast. It would often times hide in the hills and sneak up on the enemy. By the time you heard it, and I imagine it was loud, it was too late. It was used during the Vietnam war. Also it has a huge cannon at the front just below the nose. Reminds me of my childhood when I use to play a certain game called A-10 tank killer... I'm sure many others have played this great sim as well :)

But I think if you were to package scenery with this... it could only be one country, NOT in Europe :)

The A-10 was most certainly not used in the Vietnam war. The first combat-ready A-10 squadron was the 354th Tactical Fighter Wing at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 1978. Saigon fell in April 1975.

Hmm you're right.. maybe it was in a movie I saw it.. but you know how accurate those things can be. The only thing I could find remotely related to Vietnam is that it was designed to fight in that theatre...but nothing that even says the early prototypes even did.
