how about flight controls, that focus not on the whole cockpit, but rather particular instruments or the yoke?

or Now Boarding, with gate or ramp shots, that include aircraft loading or airbridge type structures.

how about a theme having to do with a passenger perspective of flying. most GA aircraft have a backseat view and some commercial addons like the captain sim feature a virtual cabin. this could also include wingviews

cheers!

Some of these may already have been mentioned.

-Tail views

-Flying is off, aviation free shots.

-Its water, shots involving pleasing ocean/sea or inland water views.

-Colourful liveries

-Tower views

-Taxi/Apron action.

-Loading/Unloading action

More ideas but I'm sure most have been mentioned.

How about this one: you must have a major landmark as well as your plane (both) in the picture.

Example: A plane flying past the Eiffel Tower with both in the screen capture...could be any major landmark in the world.

These are ideas that have been mentioned before.

The oldest aircraft you have

Nose gear view during take off

Australia

I like it because with these ideas you can contribute, not the matter which FS and which addons you use. It's not like "please buy a Caribb addon before you contribute".

How about screenshots of airlines that are no longer flying?

- This one is not bad either, it gives me something that can be captured at once. But is it a good contest if only two or three members send in shots? *g*

This is my idea:

Airports w/ strips not longer than 1900 metres (6200 feet) - propeller approach only.

LFSB is an example that wouldn't work here, there is grass, but there is at least 1 rwy that is much longer.

This can be varied:

Airports w/ strips not longer than 2800 metres (9200 feet) - jet approach only.

Maybe I'll soon find a theme where LFSB fits in, I really like Basel.

-flying in the holidays would be nice,

-flying in the sunset

-flying in a desert

-difficould to recover from this state of the flight

-emergencys

-just befor landing

-immediatly after takeoff

-bad weather

-airplanes lighter/heavier than (...)

-flying high

-flying low

-glaciers

-"normally forbidden" (as flying at an altitude of about 100ft)

and: -demonstration flights at airshows

just a few ideas on how we could fill the next years competitions (and a few more :D)

You could have screenshots that are specific to countries and regions. For instance, a screenie that sums up the USA ( could be a USAF B-52 over the the Statue of Liberty maybe ) or one that sums up Australia ( a Flying Doctor 'Nomad' over Sydney Harbour Bridge ). The scenery, aircraft / airline have to be relevant to the region or country selected, and the one that succeeds most, wins. You could have Africa and the Far East too

Another idea; famous events in aviation history. You could further refine it by specifying the decade and whether military or civil aviation. That way you could return to the theme again in future competitions

Great aviation mysteries maybe ? Vertigo are bringing out a TBM soon, and with FS Recorder, you could have a screenshot of five of them not on it because they have disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle. ( Yes I know the Bermuda Triangle is a load of tosh, but its just for fun )

Night flying shots might also be an idea. Some of these illuminated cockpit interiors and city night textures are very impressive now.

Just some ideas, Shaun :)
